The Circuit
Age is no barrier at Gymophobics Stockport we welcome ladies of all ages and the amazing Gymophobics circuit makes exercise easier than you thought.
The Bike We raise the heart rate slightly to get you into your “fat burning” zone. This takes 3 minutes of gentle exercise where we warm the body up ready to burn some of those fat stores away. During this time, you do not feel over exerted and should not break out into a sweat. Wearing your own clothes, so long as you are wearing comfortable trousers, no gym wear is required.
The Chest Press One of our problem areas can be poor posture. Our shoulders can become very rounded and our bust area becomes poorly defined more so as we are getting older. Our Chest Press allows us to straighten the spine and enables the bust to lift into its natural state.
The Inner & Outer Thigh The Inner and outer thigh is always an area of concern. In order to tone the thigh area and to make it more defined, we push and pull against cushions of air using our “unique” air pressured equipment. This enabled inches to be lost from the top of the thigh area whilst pulling in the inner and outer thigh muscles to make them firm and toned. Most ladies find that this area of the body can be uncomfortable particularly during the warm summer months. Should you not wish to lose inches from this area, that is fine, we simply firm this area and give it some definition.
The Abdominals, Lower Back (muffin tops as we like to call them) and the chin We find that most of our ladies like to focus on the tummy, waist and lower back. Most ladies tend to carry weight around the abdominal area particular after baring children. This area can be troublesome and difficult to shed the weight. Using our Abdominal machine, we are able to shed inches from the tummy and lower back, creating a flatter stomach. Using special techniques as taught by Gymophobics Instructors, we are able to create a waist area and any loose skin in the neck area can be targeted too.
The Thighs & Bottom Having worked on the inner and outer thigh, we move onto focus on the back and front of the leg and the bottom. Our Leg Curl technique allows the hamstrings and quadriceps to be exercised to create a total workout on the leg. We then exercise the gluteus muscle to ensure that we get that lift in the bottom that every woman wants.
The Back & Bra Strapping Area Carrying excess weight on the upper body, we often find bras to be very uncomfortable to wear and some clothes look like they have a rippling affect that can be seen under the garment. Exercising the long muscles that run down your back allows us to shave those unwanted ripples away from around the bra strapping area creating a smoother silhouette underneath your favourite clothes.
The Upper Arm (Our “Bingo Wings”) Typically, we are all self conscious of our upper arms. A lazy tricep muscle can create the look of a lot of excess skin on the upper arm causing a lot of women to “cover up”. By isolating the upper arm and exercising the bicep and the tricep (back and front of the arm) we take inches off this area and create a slimmer and toned appearance.
